We’ve spent the last six days talking about the "Second Brain"—our gut. We’ve looked at the science of probiotics, the physical knots of stress, and how to fuel our bodies for vibrancy. But as we close out the week, I want to look at "digestion" through a different lens.
Just as our bodies must digest the food we eat, our souls must digest the experiences we live.
Think about your week. You likely had moments of joy, but you also probably carried some "heavy" things—a stressful deadline, a misunderstood conversation, or the weight of a busy schedule. If we don’t take the time to process and "digest" those moments, they sit heavy within us, leading to emotional "bloating" and a spirit that feels sluggish.
Sunday is the day to let go of what didn’t serve us, so we can start fresh tomorrow.
The Art of Emotional Release
Have you ever noticed how your stomach feels better once you finally speak a truth or let go of a grudge? That’s because the mind and the gut are fundamentally linked. When we hold onto "undigested" emotions—like anger, frustration, or worry—our physical body feels it too.
Nurturing your home and your health means creating a ritual for release. It means acknowledging the lessons of the past seven days, keeping the wisdom, and letting go of the weight.
The Solution: Creating Space with Release™
To help facilitate this emotional reset, I turn to a blend that is as powerful as its name suggests: Release™.
Release™ is a masterful combination of Ylang Ylang, Olive, Lavandin, Geranium, and Blue Tansy. It was formulated specifically to help release feelings of anger and frustration, fostering a sense of peace and emotional freedom.
When you diffuse this blend, its calming, flowery aroma acts as a gentle invitation for your mind to stop looping on the "what-ifs" of the past week and start focusing on the "what-is" of the present moment.
Your Soulful Sunday Practice:
Before you head to bed tonight, try this simple release ritual:
-
Start the Diffuser: Add 5 drops of Release™ to your diffuser.
-
Reflect: Take a piece of paper and write down three things that felt "heavy" this week.
-
The Let Go: As you breathe in the aroma, visualize those three things leaving your space. You can even rip up the paper as a physical symbol of "digesting" the experience and moving on.
-
Breathe Light: Take three deep breaths into your belly. Notice if your gut feels a little lighter, your jaw a little looser, and your mind a little quieter.
Align Your Life in Harmony
You weren’t meant to carry the weight of every week into the next one. By intentionally "emptying your beaker" of emotional stress, you are giving your gut—and your soul—the room it needs to flourish.
When we choose to live in harmony with our bodies, every Monday becomes a beautiful opportunity rather than a burden.
